The Queen's Gambit
This is a standalone, officially licensed board game that is not traditional chess. It's a strategy game that aims to simulate Beth Harmon's ability to visualise moves on the ceiling, designed for 2 to 4 players, ages 12 and up.
Players plan their turns three moves in advance using cards depicting various chess pieces (bishop, rook, queen, knight). On their turn, they reveal a card and move their "gambit" piece across the board to capture chess tokens, earning points. The game ends when all tokens are captured, and the player with the most points wins.
The game uses a standard chessboard and chess piece movements but replaces the rules of chess with a card-driven, point-scoring mechanic. Traditional chess pieces do not move; only the players' special "gambit" tokens do.
